Common Questions About Our Services
Your first session focuses on understanding where you are and building confidence. We assess your current skills through practical cooking rather than abstract questions, then work on areas that will provide the most immediate improvement. Most students complete at least one full dish and leave with tangible new knowledge they can apply immediately.
Absolutely. Many clients prefer learning in their own kitchen because they develop skills using their actual equipment and layout. We travel throughout the Birmingham area and can accommodate locations further afield for a travel supplement. Alternatively, our teaching kitchen provides professional equipment and a focused environment.
Weekday sessions often have availability within one to two weeks. Weekends are more popular and typically require three to four weeks notice. For group events or corporate bookings, we recommend at least six weeks advance notice to ensure availability and allow proper planning time.
Sessions at our teaching kitchen include all ingredients. For home sessions, you can choose to source ingredients yourself using our detailed shopping list, or we can provide everything for an additional cost. Many clients appreciate sourcing their own ingredients as it teaches them about selection and quality assessment.
Sessions cancelled with more than 48 hours notice can be rescheduled at no charge. Cancellations within 48 hours are subject to a 50% fee, as we will likely have already purchased perishable ingredients. We understand emergencies happen and handle these situations with reasonable flexibility.
Yes, cooking lessons make excellent gifts. We provide elegant gift certificates that can be customised for specific session types or left open for the recipient to choose. Gift certificates are valid for twelve months from purchase date.
